Hello there dear readers,
Well back in 2015 I tried doing seasonal previews but then dropped it. Well I am bringing them back. For Fall 2017, I am watching about 5 shows all on weekend days (Fridays-Sundays) as those days are when I am not working so more time for me to enjoy the viewing experience. Anyway, here we go:
Shoujo Shumatsu Ryoko (Girls’ Last Tour)
Director: Takaharu Ozaki
Script: Kazuyuki Fudeyasu
Studio: White Fox
Civilization is dead, but Chito and Yuuri are still alive. So they hop aboard their beloved Kettenkrad motorbike and aimlessly wander the ruins of the world they once knew. Day after hopeless day, they look for their next meal and fuel for their ride. But as long as the two are together, even an existence as bleak as theirs has a ray or two of sunshine in it, whether they’re sucking down their fill of soup or hunting for machine parts to tinker with. For two girls in a world full of nothing, the experiences and feelings the two share give them something to live for. (from ANN)
Cuties in a post-apocalyptic world hopping along on a motorbike? Heh, I can dig it. I saw the trailer and was hooked immediately. I sense this will be like Kino’s Journey in terms of bleak world building and the like. Oh yeah and perhaps some yuri shipping since the head writer is well-known for that.
Love Live Sunshine Season 2
Director: Kazuo Sakai
Script: Jukki Hanada
I really liked the first season last year. Granted it started off living within the shadow of its more popular predecessor but it managed to be its own work by the end of the first season. I am looking forward to see what they will do this time around. And Oh yes Dia is Best Girl of this show, perfection goddess personified.
Yuki Yuna is a Hero Season 2
Directors: Seiji Kishi (Chief), Daisei Fukuoka
Script: Makoto Uezu and Takahiro
Studio: Studio Gokumi
Oh yeah, it has been a long time. The second season of one of my personal favorite anime of all time, this will be quite interesting. The first part of it (6 episodes) will cover the Washio Sumi prequel story then the second part (6 episodes) will cover the Sonoko After story. Part prequel, part sequel is something I haven’t much in anime up to this point.
Director: Ryouji Masuyama
Script: Go Zappa
Studio: A-1 Pictures
Maika gets a job at a cafe where all the waitresses are given certain attributes — such as “tsundere” or “little sister” — to embody while serving customers. The manager asks Maika to be the “Do S” (extreme sadist) waitress, so she will have to adopt a dominant and aggressive persona (from ANN)
Well as a requirement for me, I have to watch a Girls Club anime just about every season and this one fits the bill the best this time around. Granted one featuring a coffee show has been done before (Gochiusa for example) but hey the characters seem to be interesting. Of course, the café’s concept seems geared towards otaku who like those particular anime tropes and clichés. But hey a fun low calorie treat of a show is needed every once in a while.
Director: Masafumi Tamura
Script: Katsuhiko Takayama
Studio: Silver Link
Yuri Miyata and Megumi Meguro are two girls who enter the world of competitive motorcycle sidecar racing on Miyake Island. While they are the complete opposites of each other, and often butt heads, they complement each other well during races. The team will fight other motorcycle sidecar teams from all over Japan, each with their own opposing traits, such as honor student and working student, sadist and masochist, and a funny man and straight man. (from ANN)
Aha an anime that Kosuke Fujishima would be proud of. Two hotties competing in side car racing looks to be another strong entry in female sports anime in recent years like Scorching Ping Pong Girls and Keijo. I saw the trailer for this some months ago and was pulled in to checking this out.
So, readers, what anime next season are you checking out? Leave a comment please, thank you and have a great day.
