Fall 2015 Seasonal Preview
Alright, well fall season is coming soon so once again doing an entry for what I will be watching. Enjoy the read!
Lances N’ Masques (October 1 2015)
Director: Kyohei Ishiguro
Writer: Hideaki Koyasu
“The battle action novel series revolves around Yōtarō Hanafusa, a young man who is part of the last remaining order of knights in the 21st century, “Knights of the World.” As he fights as the mysterious Knight Lancer, he must hide his identity behind a mask.” (ANN)
Let me start by saying huzzah Studio Gokumi is going something different again. First was last year’s Yuki Yuna, which I quite like and so they got some precedent there. Hideaki Koyasu has been writing anime scripts for a few years, penning such titles as Akikan, GJ Club and Love Lab. I look forward to Studio Gokumi tackling a fantasy story as the trailers I have seen hold some promise.
Hacka Doll the Animation (October 2 2015)
Studio: Creators in Pack x Trigger
Director: Ikuo Geso
“The anime personifies the app’s customization engine as three “Hacka Dolls” — the personal entertainment AI and main navigator Hacka Doll #1 (played by Miyu Takagi), the anime expect Hacka Doll #2 (Kaya Okuno), and the knowledgeable otaku Hacka Doll #3 (Nanami Yamashita). The Hacka Doll’s three voice actresses also sing the anime’s theme song “First Heart Beat,” while Reimi Yukarino voices the user.” (ANN)
Alright so Trigger is involved with this production? Well Ikuo Geso the director is known as key animator for some previous Trigger productions and he pulls a one man production on this, doing director, storyboarder, animation director, editor, designer and digital painter for the anime production. Judging from the trailer that seems to be the case, with all its quick frame animation and zany energy. Also, this serves as advertisement for a smartphone news app which alright then. This one is a curiosity for me at least.
Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu Ka?? (October 10 2015)
Studio: White Fox
Director: Hiroyuki Hashimoto
Writer: Kazuki Fudeyasu
Second season of Gochiusa, the soothing Slice of Life continues into the Fall, and sequels from past entries in SoL genre (Kinmosa in spring, Non Non Biyori in summer) as well. I liked watching the first season last year and I anticipate more of the same. Although, the trailer hints at getting some screen time for Cocoa’s Onee-sama, Mocha Hoto (lol) which I am looking forward to as well.
Komori-san wa Kotowarenai (October 4 2015)
Director: Kenichi Imaizumi
Writer: Yuka Suguro
“Fourteen-year-old Komori Shuri is a junior high school girl who is too nice to decline requests. Constantly doing favors for other people has given her incredible strength!? But even so, she is also an adolescent junior high school girl. A story overflowing with the ups and downs of everyday life!” (LiveChart)
Well of course I would put on a silly little 4-koma adaptation on this list. I would not miss one for the world. I do like the premise for this show and read some of the manga and I hope it’ll be a fun show. Everyday life anime is so soothing and healing!
Valkyrie Drive (October 10 2015)
Director: Hiraku Kaneko
Writer: Yousuke Kuroda
“The “beautiful girl sexy battle action” anime is set on five artificial islands. Mamori is a “mermaid” transferred to one of those islands. When Mamori is attacked, a newly transferred girl named Mirei saves her. The enemy doesn’t stop, however, and the two are soon cornered. Just when they think all hope is lost, Mirei kisses Mamori, and Mamori turns into a sword. Mirei then wields the sword and launches a counterattack against their enemies.” (ANN)
AH yes, the ecchifest entry of the season. Brought to us by the Studio ARMS, known for Elfen Lied and Master of Martial Hearts among other trashy series, so yeah my expectations are rather low on this one. In fact I may choose to just check this out for like an episode or two. The trailer looks nice though I will give it that.
